ACTS held a three-day virtual students’ orientation last August 12-14, 2020 (Wednesday-Friday) with the aim of: introducing and explaining the ACTS Senior High School programs, services and learning modalities to be dealt on the new normal of education; producing a welcoming atmosphere for the students to know the faculty and staff; and for the better understanding of the academic programs and appreciating the efforts of the institution in dealing with the crisis. The said virtual program was participated by the group of newly enrolled Senior High School (SHS) students from the different Strands: ABM, HUMSS, ICT and STEM.>

Graduation day is always a day of rejoicing for it marks the conclusion of an educational journey and the commencement of another more uncertain and more difficult part of a person’s search for a better life and future. Unfortunately, the pandemic that we are experiencing cause prohibition of mass gathering including the traditional commencement exercises all over the country.>

Recognition Day is one of the exhilarating events that is being awaited by a lot of students. Their hard works will be paid off, and their achievements will be recognized. Relative to this, ACTS Computer College held its very first Virtual Recognition Day last September 5, 2020, with a theme of: “Sulong EduKalidad: Championing the Nation’s Future.” Truly, amidst pandemic, the school cannot be stopped in its goal to acknowledge excellence and to provide an environment that encourages positive outcomes for all students in every sphere of learning.>

ACTS Computer College’s Hatid – Aral sa Barangay is one of its sincerest programs developed as part of embracing the New Normal in Education. It is a manifestation of the genuine love and care of the institution for its stakeholders especially the students. It is a weekly activity which is the institution’s response to Modular Distance Learning approach, which will be very helpful to students who do not have access to internet connection. It is also a best way to support the goal of Department of Education which is providing quality education amidst the ongoing pandemic.>

ACTS Computer College always has a genuine care and love for its students as it is sincerely extending its helping hands to them through providing scholarship programs and through having partnership with scholarship providers such as private and government institutions. Last November 5-6, 2020, the institution conducted the Awarding of Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) of the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UNIFAST).>

ACTS Computer College first Virtual Parents’ Orientation was held August 15, 2020 via Zoom app. The institution is committed in having great partnership with all its stakeholders especially with the parents. This activity also aimed to equip the parents with knowledge about the new normal in education for them to be well-prepared in supporting their children.>

History of ACTS Computer College

ACTS Computer College was established in 1987. It is the pioneer computer school in the premiere town of Sta. Cruz, Laguna. The first business home of ACTS Computer College was located in front of the Provincial Capitol of Laguna at P. Guevara Avenue Sta. Cruz, Laguna. With an enrollment of about 115 students ACTS Computer College initially offered short computer courses namely: Basic Programming Modules, Basic Computer System, COBOL, Lotus 1-2-3 and WordStar. In 1990, ACTS Computer College offered additional two and three Year courses namely: Computer Technology, Office Management with Computer, Electronic Computer Technician and the Three-Year Computer Information System. The year 1994 was a big leap for ACTS Computer College. ACTS was transferred from its business office fronting the Provincial Capitol of Laguna to its new strategic location in EGK Building at P. Guevara Avenue, corner A. Bonifacio Street in front of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The corporate name Advanced Computer Training School was changed to ACTS Computer College upon approval of the Securities and Exchange Commission signifying a great changes for the institution to make way for a remarkable and more exciting business prospects heading into the future. In the same year the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) approved its new curricular offerings in Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), Bachelor of Science in Information Management (BSIM), Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), and Bachelor of Science in Secretarial Administration (BSBA). This program is in response to the challenges of the changing global environment in this modern age to produce professional, responsible and global competitive citizens ready to compete with the technological and scientific transformation worldwide. In 1996, with the imminent threat of the Asian Financial Crisis, ACTS was able to conceptualize a program in response to help fight the crisis and assist the poverty alleviation program in our nation. The ACTS Study Now Pay Later Plan Scholarship was introduced in the same year, followed by the ACTS Tuition Fee Discount Scholarship Program in the year 2001 and the ACTS Scholarship Assistance Program (ASAP) in the year 2006, a more responsive scholarship program bringing hope, joy and addressing the needs of the underprivileged but deserving students with the sincere intention of helping them finish their college education to have a decent life and a guaranteed career in the future. In 1998, with the united enduring efforts and guidance of the professional and competent faculty personnel of ACTS Computer College, it was able to produce its first batch of Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS) graduates. Since then ACTS has produced more batches of graduates in BSCS, BSIT, BSBA and BSSA where they were already successful in their respective field of endeavor here and abroad. In September 16, 2009, with the supreme guidance and blessings from Almighty God, ACTS Computer College, Infanta, Quezon was borned and incorporated in service to God and Country. In March 27, 2012 the Commission on Higher Education has given permit to ACTS Computer College in the the curriculum offering of Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship to produce a more responsible and dignified graduates towards a sustainable Philippine Economy. ACTS Computer College's Vision and Mission will continue to respond positively to the fast changing technology to help empower our students and make them more resourceful, more innovative and more creative to adapt to change and help them compete in the information technology-based global economy and push our country forward thus bringing real hope, satisfaction and prosperity of life to everybody.
