It is one of the sacred academic traditions every year, commencement exercises are conducted to recognize students who have given their efforts, patience and dedication in studying almost two years of taking their Senior High School journeys.
Although, they missed one solemn, formal, joyous and exuberant event, ACTS COMPUTER COLLEGE still made its way. The 3rd Virtual Commencement Exercises was conducted last August 31, 2020 with the theme, “Sulong Edukalidad: Championing the Nation’s Future”.
This happened as a traditional end-of-school-year rite marking the accomplishment of a particular educational stage to begin a new one. This virtual event was hosted by one of the Senior High School teachers, Ms. Ma. Lourdes Monteramos. It started at 1:30 p.m with the opening prayer led by Mr. Jerome C. Aguilar followed by the National Anthem. This would not be possible without the presence of the highly dedicated College President/Director, Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao, MBA, MM, who gave a heartfelt warming welcome message to the members of the graduating batch, colleagues, parents, and guardians. Dr. Eric P. Castillo, who leads the Senior High School Department, also gave his message which continuously inspired our Senior High School graduates.
Afterwards, Mr. Nil Jay Perolina, the guest speaker, was introduced. He expressed his motivational words to the students to strive more for success. He shared that the institution’s sense of family spirit and belongingness, its Christ centered culture, its discipline and practices helped and honed him as an Actstista, which led him to become what he is today. Then, the most awaited highlight of the event was, calling the roll of the candidates for graduation. Students’ names were called from different sections and strands showcasing their GOD-given talents and achievements and taking pride with their hard work and dedication.
Some of the outstanding students, Ms. Ma Eliza M. Ponong and Ms. Carlene Mae Volpane, read the response from the graduates and the pledge of loyalty to their Alma Mater, respectively. To feel the togetherness and pride to the school, students sang the ACTS Hymn. This ended with the closing prayer led by Ms. Hannah Zsanice V. Maulawin to thank God for His guidance and for the event’s success.
The end of school year gives students and teachers time to recuperate for the coming year. Graduation becomes one last celebration to remember good times and hard works spent in the years of high school. Each year comes trials and situations pushing each individual to overcome and persevere through and this will forever be remembered for the rest of their lives with the guidance of our dear and loving GOD.
To GOD be the glory.
