ACTS’ SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL VIRTUAL STUDENTS’ ORIENTATION 2020

ACTS held a three-day virtual students’ orientation last August 12-14, 2020 (Wednesday-Friday) with the aim of: introducing and explaining the ACTS Senior High School programs, services and learning modalities to be dealt on the new normal of education; producing a welcoming atmosphere for the students to know the faculty and staff; and for the better understanding of the academic programs and appreciating the efforts of the institution in dealing with the crisis. The said virtual program was participated by the group of newly enrolled Senior High School (SHS) students from the different Strands: ABM, HUMSS, ICT and STEM.

Day 1 of the virtual students’ orientation was scheduled for the ABM Grade 11 students; for Day 2, HUMSS Grade 11 students were the participants; and for Day 3, the ICT and STEM Grade 11 students were the attendees. Each scheduled day formally started with an invocation led by Ms. Hannah Maulawin. Then, followed by the National Anthem (through a video presentation) and the singing of the ACTS Hymn led by Ms. Manzyel De Lilla. The group of students was warmly welcomed by the College President/Director of ACTS Computer College, Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao, MBA, MM, as he gave his noteworthy message which he joyously and heartfully appreciated the students’ decision of choosing ACTS Computer College as their second home. Next in line, the highlights of the program were unlocked. Dr. Eric P. Castillo, the SHS Principal and the first speaker who delivered a talk about the K to 12 Program and the Voucher Program; Mrs. Maricris Amoloza, one of the SHS Instructresses and the second speaker, who shared the well-equipped information about the Academic Programs; Prof. Abiekhay Camillee Lavastida, another SHS Instructresses and the third speaker, who clearly discussed about the Learning Modalities; and Prof. Adeline Z. Davac, the Assistant SHS Principal and the last speaker, who delivered a detailed talk about the ACTS Virtual Learning Environment (ACTS-VLE). Question and Answer portion was followed next to address all the concerns or questions relevant to the topics discussed. The said activity was headed by the SHS Principal, Dr. Eric P. Castillo. Afterwards, the introduction of the SHS Faculty was presented through a video presentation. For the final part of the program, a student from each strand led the, “PANALANGIN NG MGA MAG-AARAL”. Then, the virtual students’ orientation for each day was completely and solemnly ended with a closing prayer led by Ms. Denielle Alias.

The family of ACTS Computer College was in heartfelt gratitude for all the people who have shared their time and showed their full support in making the 3-day Virtual Students’ Orientation 2020 a successful one. Big thanks to all the speakers, technical team, students, the members of the family and of course to the main reason why this virtual program has made possible to happen, the GOD ALMIGHTY.
