ACTS COMPUTER COLLEGE held its annual Mister and Miss ACTS Senior High School 2019 last October 4, 2019 at the Cultural Center of Laguna. This prestigious pageant featured ten (10) lovely ladies and ten (10) good looking gentlemen. All were excited to see the highlights of this event which were the: Production number, Festival Costume, Casual Wear, Swimsuit, Formal/Evening Competition, Question and Answer and the most awaited one was to witness who would be crowned as Mister and Mister ACTS SHS 2019.
The event formally started at around 1:30 in the afternoon with a doxology performed by the ACTS SHS Dance Troupe and the invocation led by Prof. Adeline Z. Davac. It was followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the ACTS Hymn headed by the ACTS AlgoRhythm. The atmosphere suddenly changed into a more exciting one as the off-stage hosts, Ms. Hannah Zanice M. Maulawin and Mr. John Steven S. Bacube, introduced the beloved and respected President/Director of ACTS Computer College, Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao. His message to the crowd especially, to the candidates was definitely inspirational.
The crowd broke the silence and started to cheer up as the loudest it could be as the main hosts, Mr. Ninyo Joseph C. Valenzuela and Ms. Lanz Aleczee Calacalsada, called the twenty (20) splendid candidates for their production number. It was truly a jaw dropping part of the program as everybody witnessed how alluring they were. Next part of the program was the introduction of the panel of judges. Dr. Eric P. Castillo introduced: the first judge, Mr. Ralph Laurence Mendoza, the current Senior Digital Marketing Automation Specialist of SAP; the second judge, Ms. Marielex A. Bicol, the Junior Assistant Manager 3 of BDO Unibank, Inc.; the third judge, Ms. Marichu Maravillas- Lee, the Demand Analyst of ABBOTT Laboratories Trading and proprietor of Baton Rouge Enterprises; the fourth judge, Mr. John Carlo Dela Cruz, the Medical Sales Specialist of Bekton and Dickinson Multinational Corporation and the last one and also as the chairman of the board of judges, Mr. Mark Pagalanan, the owner, designer and couturier of Mark Pagalanan Haute Couture. The whole institution was indeed very grateful for having them as part of the event. They were one of the reasons for the possibleness of this event. After that, Dr. Castillo said in detailed the criteria for judging.
Before the next highlight of the event which was the festival costume, a special number was performed by the ACTS Dance Troupe and also the sponsors were acknowledged. Minutes passed, everybody was stunned as the candidates showed-off their Festival Costume. Each of them was really amazing and the chosen festival costume was absolutely suitable for all candidates. Another highlight of the event was the Casual Wear Competition. The candidates carried their fabulous suit as they walked on stage. Then, the swimwear competition which was considerably the hottest and one of the most awaited parts of the event. The candidates brought themselves effortlessly as they walked on stage. After that, the candidates made the audience flabbergasted as they walked in their formal/evening gown. All candidates looked so admirable as the ladies wore their dazzling gown and the gentlemen in their captivating formal suit. Lastly, and the most important part of the event was the Question and Answer portion. The place covered with complete silence. The male candidates were the first one to answer the questions. After that, they were serenaded by Ms. Lyka Jenzelle Odron with the song “When I Look at you”. Next to it was the part 2 of the Q and A portion wherein the female candidates were the ones who would answer the questions. After that, they were serenaded by Mr. John Carlo Dela Cruz with the song “I Swear”. The candidates really took the hot seat and felt pressured but then all of them did great in that part.
As for the next part, Mr. Josh Adrian Reforma and Ms. Marijoy Villafranca, the Mister and Miss ACTS 2018 title holder, were called on stage for their farewell walk. Mrs. Maricris M. Amoloza, one of the coordinators of the event, gave her closing remarks for all the people who took part and for being the reason of the success of this event. Finally, the hosts confirmed that the results were already out. All of the people in the place were praying and hoping for their aspiring candidates to be crowned as Mister and Miss ACTS 2019. For the first runners-up: Mr. Anjo Delos Santos and Ms. Mariah Stephanie C. Empeno; Second runners-up: Mr. Glenn Jefferson V. Mercado and Ms. Jaylene M. Doncansil; First runners-up: Mr. Ibuki C. Ito and Ms. Veronica Compendio; and for the big award, Mr. Larenz Thypen L. Balmes crowned as MISTER ACTS 2019 and Ms. Jilianne Xavier A. Pagtananan crowned as MISS ACTS 2019, respectively. Tears started to fall as they rejoice for what they achieved. It was indeed a roller coaster of emotions. This event made us excited and even tensed.
ACTS Computer College extended their extreme gratitude to all the people who made this event a very successful one. Thank you for the candidates who served as life of this event. The people who pushed it through no matter what especially to the coordinators, Mrs. Maricris M. Amoloza and Mrs. Moriela K. Mercado. Also, big thanks to the whole ACTS family and most of all to the God Almighty. Thank you everyone. Another remarkable successful story ACTS has made in the list for the year 2019.
