On the 30th day of August, the provincial government of Laguna showcased the amazing talents and creativity of the tattoo artists of Laguna in "The Second Laguna Tattoo Competition" with a theme "Tatu:Tatak ng Kasaysayan" in cooperation with the Laguna Tourism, Culture, Arts and Trade Office (LTCATO). ACTS Computer College Information Management (AIM) team was again commissioned by the LTCATO to be the official tabulator in the Tattoo competition. The said competition was in celebration of the "Buwan ng Wika" and "Buwan ng Kasaysayan", held at the Cultural Center of Laguna.

The tattoo competition had two categories: Realism and Ornamental with participating tattoo artists in each category and their respective models. The competition started with the singing of our National Anthem and a prayer both with Audio Visual Presentation. The head of Laguna Tourism, Culture, Arts and Trade Office - Dr. Rosauro A. Sta. Maria Jr. deliver his opening message, followed by the other respected speakers. The History of OPM and the History of Tattoo was also discussed during the program by Ms. Sarah Estuvo, the Historic Site Development Officer I of Nagcarlan Underground Cemetery and Mrs. Zarah Escueta, the Curator of Rizal Shrine in Calamba, consequently. Also, important information about the proper hygiene and the do’s and dont’s before, during and after having a tattoo was given by Dr. Donna Catherine Ortiz from the Provincial Health Office.

To make the competition more enjoyable and lively, different talents of Laguna performed during the competition. While looking around on how the tattoo artist made their pieces, audience enjoyed the sounds of the different bands performing in the event. The panel of judges looked into each tattoo giving their positive and helpful insights that will benefit each tattoo artist to improve their talents. Afterwards, the ACTS tabulation team handed the results of the competition. The participating tattoo artists were indeed talented and skilled in this field. Although having a tattoo is painful, still many people are fond of the art of tattoos and tattoo designs. ACTS Computer College Information Management (AIM) team was grateful to be part of this competition as the official tabulator and is looking forward to have more opportunities and experiences like this in the future.
