The ACTS Computer College Information Management (AIM) team was again commissioned by the Laguna Tourism, Culture, Arts and Trade Office (LTCATO) to be the Official Tabulator in the 3rd Laguna Folk Dance Competition held last December 6, 2018 at SM City San Pablo, San Pablo City, Laguna. It was participated by fourteen competing groups from every part of the province for the Elementary Category, High School Category and Open Category dancing Philippine folk dances. The champion and runners up were chosen by reputable jurors headed by Mr. Robert Stephen Biadoma, former coach of PNU Pep Squad and a faculty member in CBC and Assumption Makati. Rainbow Institute of Learning, Inc., San Antonio de Padua College and Sining Kalinangan – Santa Cruz were later announced as the Grand Champion in the Elementary Category, High School Category and Open Category respectively, receiving cash prize and plaque.
Today’s generation may either feel this event too old-fashioned, others may get too intrigued. But at the end of the day, it is helpful that it is still celebrated for today’s generation to learn about, to appreciate and to preserve Philippine culture and history.
