ACTS Computer College held its CITE and BEST at the Pagsanjan Riceland Resort last February 15, 2019 with a theme of “Exploring Career Opportunities: Job Decisions and Real Life Experience.” It was emceed by two of the Faculty Teachers of the Senior High School Department: Ms. Elaine A. Caguingin and Mr. Lemmuel B. Lacbay. The said symposium was divided into two sessions. The ABM Strand, the HUMSS Strand and the College students of DBM were scheduled for the morning session. Then, ICT, GAS, STEM and the College students of DCS for the afternoon session.

The said event for the morning session started with an invocation led by Mr. Rowell C. Condino, one of the SHS Faculty Teachers. Then followed by the National Anthem and ACTS Hymm sang by the ACTS Algorhythm. After that, Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao, the President/Director, delivered his inspiring and motivative talk for the opening remarks. Next to it, the atmosphere became livelier with an ice breaker facilitated by Mr. Niño Joseph Valenzuela and Mrs. Jamaica Q. Castillo.

That feeling of excitement was followed by the most important part of the symposium which was the presentation of seminar wherein, two speakers gave their talk. For the first speaker, SPO2 Jomar M. Nacor, the Chief Invesitgator of Police Pagsanjan Station, imparted his talk about Setting Career Goals in the 21st Century. Then, it was followed by the second speaker, Mr. Victor N. Madlangbayan, the Owner of Shack Dinagat Enterprise Development Consultant GoNegosyo Entrepreneur, who explained the Career Opportunities in Business and Industry. After the presentation of each speaker, all students were encouraged to ask questions related to the topic presented. For the emphasizing of the key points Dr. Adoree A. Ramos, the Head Department of Business Management did the Recapitulation. Lastly, Dr. Eric P. Castillo, the SHS Principal, gave his talk for the closing remarks. Before, the morning program has completely come to an end, Mr. John Steven Bacube, one of the SHS Faculty Teachers, led the closing prayer so that everybody was still guided as they reach their path home by our Almighty God.

For the official start of the afternoon session, Mr. Jerome C. Aguilar, one of the SHS Faculty teachers led the opening prayer. Then it was followed by the National Anthem and ACTS Hymm. After that, Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao, the President/Director of the said Institution, gave an uplifting message to the crowd for his opening remarks. Then at around 2 in the afternoon, the presentation of seminar has taken part. There were three speakers who explicated their presentation. For the first speaker, Engr. Ramil M. Naraga, the Proprietor of Engrams Construction, talked about the Career Challenges and Opportunities in Engineering. Next to it was Ms. Maria Teresa Babaan, the Guidance Counselor of Pagsanjan National High School who delivered her message about the Values Requirement in Career Opportunities. Then, for the last speaker was Mr. Rommel Bulalacao, the CEO and CTO Code Disruptors, Incorporated, talked about the 21st Century IT-Related Skills. Subsequently, the program was followed with the forum for the students’ questions and clarifications. Then, it was proceeded with the recapitulation given by Prof. Adeline Z. Davac, the SHS Assistant Principal highlighting the key points of the seminar. Near to the final part of the program, Engr. Randie Ian A. Villatuya, the Acting Head of the Department of Computer Studies, expressed out his meaningful message through his closing remarks. Then for the final part of the event, the place took in silence and everybody had the closing prayer which was led by Mr. Ariel Jr. M. Tobias, one of the SHS Faculty Teachers.

It was definitely an awesome day for everybody. All of them surely learned bundle of information that will be absolutely helpful in opportunities seeking and can be applied in so many situations. Everybody will come back home bringing the well-equipped knowledge that they obtained from the symposium. An extendable gratitude to the Almighty God and to each member of ACTS Computer College. The CITE and BEST 2019 was considerably the FIRST Successful event of ACTS Computer College for the year 2019.
