It is one of the sacred academic traditions every year, commencement exercises are conducted to recognize students who have given their efforts, patience and dedication in studying almost two years of taking their Senior High School journeys.>

ACTS held a three-day virtual students’ orientation last August 12-14, 2020 (Wednesday-Friday) with the aim of: introducing and explaining the ACTS Senior High School programs, services and learning modalities to be dealt on the new normal of education; producing a welcoming atmosphere for the students to know the faculty and staff; and for the better understanding of the academic programs and appreciating the efforts of the institution in dealing with the crisis. The said virtual program was participated by the group of newly enrolled Senior High School (SHS) students from the different Strands: ABM, HUMSS, ICT and STEM.>

Graduation day is always a day of rejoicing for it marks the conclusion of an educational journey and the commencement of another more uncertain and more difficult part of a person’s search for a better life and future. Unfortunately, the pandemic that we are experiencing cause prohibition of mass gathering including the traditional commencement exercises all over the country.>

Recognition Day is one of the exhilarating events that is being awaited by a lot of students. Their hard works will be paid off, and their achievements will be recognized. Relative to this, ACTS Computer College held its very first Virtual Recognition Day last September 5, 2020, with a theme of: “Sulong EduKalidad: Championing the Nation’s Future.” Truly, amidst pandemic, the school cannot be stopped in its goal to acknowledge excellence and to provide an environment that encourages positive outcomes for all students in every sphere of learning.>

ACTS Computer College’s Hatid – Aral sa Barangay is one of its sincerest programs developed as part of embracing the New Normal in Education. It is a manifestation of the genuine love and care of the institution for its stakeholders especially the students. It is a weekly activity which is the institution’s response to Modular Distance Learning approach, which will be very helpful to students who do not have access to internet connection. It is also a best way to support the goal of Department of Education which is providing quality education amidst the ongoing pandemic.>

ACTS Computer College always has a genuine care and love for its students as it is sincerely extending its helping hands to them through providing scholarship programs and through having partnership with scholarship providers such as private and government institutions. Last November 5-6, 2020, the institution conducted the Awarding of Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) of the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education (UNIFAST).>

ACTS Computer College first Virtual Parents’ Orientation was held August 15, 2020 via Zoom app. The institution is committed in having great partnership with all its stakeholders especially with the parents. This activity also aimed to equip the parents with knowledge about the new normal in education for them to be well-prepared in supporting their children.>

ACTS Computer College Gift Giving 2019

“There is more Happiness in Giving than in receiving (ACTS 20:35b)” has been the advocacy of ACTS Computer College for the past few years, and this legacy continued last December 10, December 17, and December 18, 2019 at Anibong Elementary School, Pagsanjan, Laguna, Montserrat Subdivision, Barangay Santo Angel Sur, Answering the Cry of the Poor (ANCOP) Luisiana, Laguna and ANCOP Cavinti, Laguna. This advocacy aims to provide felt needs and other services to the less fortunate and to celebrate life and success by giving back to society the blessings that the school received from GOD Almighty.

The first community outreach program was held at Barangay Anibong, Pagsanjan, Laguna last December 10, 2019. The President/Director of ACTS Computer College, Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao, together with his better half, Mrs. Elma Macalinao, accompanied by Dr. Eric P. Castillo and the SSG and SC officers were warmly welcomed by the people present there. To officially start the program, an opening prayer was done. Followed by the inspirational message of Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao. Then, giving of gifts took place. Indeed, they were very grateful to the blessings that they received and happiness was really evident on their faces as they bid them goodbye.

On the following week, December 17, 2019, the second community outreach program was held at Montserrat Subdivision, Barangay Santo Angel Sur. The people as well as the officials greeted the faculty and staff members of ACTS Computer College joyously. They were very excited for them. The event started, and it was hosted by Mr. Nio Valenzuela and Ms. Malou Monteramos. Then, proceeded by an opening prayer and an opening remarks of Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao. Followed by the message of the Barangay Captain, Hon. Mary Ann Frontuna. Next, to give more happiness to the people, selected faculty and staff members, together with the SSG and SC officers of ACTS Computer College gave a dance number. After this, gift-giving was conducted and every child was given a special gift through the kindness of Mrs. Elma Macalinao.

The next day, the third and last outreach program happened at ANCOP Luisiana, Laguna and ANCOP Cavinti, Laguna. It was a very memorable and heartfelt experience since these places were very close to the hearts of Prof. Ruben Macalinao and Mrs. Elma Macalinao. During this journey, selected faculty members, together with Dr. Eric P. Castillo, accompanied them. The people’s excitement was shown upon seeing them smile. As a sign of their gratitude, some children prepared a dance number. Then followed by the distribution of Christmas gifts.

Aside from the fact that true spirit of Christmas is sharing, ACTS Computer College advocacy lives not just during Christmas because the blessing of prayer that they have shared with the community stays.

NSTP Christmas Gift Giving

For the NSTP students of ACTS Computer College, giving back is the true meaning of Christmas. It is the season of sharing the blessings they have received from our loving GOD and making a difference in someone’s life. It was the main reason why the students came up to the Christmas Gift Giving Program.

The program was organized by the NSTP Teacher, Mrs. Maricris A. Amoloza and the College students of ACTS Computer College together with the Sangguniang Barangay of Barangay Santo Angel Sur, Santa Cruz, Laguna headed by their Barangay Captain, Hon. Mary Ann Frontuna. The theme of the program was “There is more Happiness in Giving than in receiving (ACTS 20:35b)”, hosted by Mr. Daniel Calabit and Ms. Cristal Josue. It was held at Don Pio Event’s Place which was formally started with an opening prayer led by Ms. Mary Joy Uyan followed by the opening remarks of Mrs. Maricris A. Amoloza. She thanked Hon. Mary Ann Frontuna, the Barangay Officials and the parents of the Day Care students for allowing them to celebrate the Early Christmas Party in their Barangay. Afterwards, one of the NSTP students, Mr. Mark Jay Blue Pambuan sang some children and Christmas songs to entertain the children. The Senior High School Principal, Dr. Eric P. Castillo also gave his message to all parents and children present in the program. He gave emphasis on the importance of sharing and giving to others and wished them a Merry Christmas. After the short message of Dr. Eric P. Castillo, the thirty five children sang a Christmas song for ACTS Computer College Family to show that they were grateful to be part of the program.

The hosts started the games and ensured that everyone participated in the games. The winners of the games received fantastic prizes. After the fun games and dance, the NSTP students distributed the foods to the children and parents. While they are eating, the NSTP Officers sang “Thank you, Thank you Ang Babait Ninyo” to express how thankful they were. The last part of the program was the distribution of the simple gifts prepared by the NSTP Students. All the efforts and sacrifices of the students were paid off because the faces of the children were full of joy and happiness. Through this program, they realized that giving back is not only good thing to do but it also makes people and GOD happier. The program ended with a closing prayer led by Mrs. Maricris A. Amoloza.

Success of ACTSCC’s Community Outreach Program 2019

In relation with the goal of the specialized subject Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship which is to integrate applied social sciences into community-action initiatives, last October 8 – 11, 2019 Community outreach program was held at Montserrat Subdivision, Brgy. Sto. Angel Sur, Sta. Cruz, Laguna. With the support of dear ACTS Family and cooperation of HUMSS 12 students, as well as the partnering Barangay it was indeed a success.

Sto. Angel Sur Elementary School had a warm welcome to Ms. Harley Queenie Flores, Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship subject teacher along with Mr. Joemar Gonzales before starting the program. The school was very participative. They even provided sound system and table for the said event.

HUMSS 12 – Love was the first section to facilitate their outreach program entitled, “ACTSarap: Feeding our Future”. After the opening prayer, they conducted fun games that Kinder and Grade 1 students genuinely enjoyed. HUMSS Love hosted “Newspaper Dance” and “Matching Body Parts”. The children were motivated every time they get a prize. They are very hands – on with taking care of the kids all throughout the program. They have prepared spaghetti and sandwiches. Then, the President of the class, Mr. Mico Amparo had his closing remarks preceded by the closing prayer.

On the following day, HUMSS 12 – Hope conducted theirs entitled “The God’s Work Wonders”. Grade 2 and Grade 3 students were the participants of the activity. After the opening prayer, the President of the class, Ms. Jenesis Alarcos did her opening remarks. Then they have facilitated “Group Yourself” game. HUMSS 12 Hope prepared sopas and sandwiches for the event. The children were motivated every time they get a prize. Humanistas were very dedicated on taking care of the kids. They would run after children who plays around. After all the fun, they have ended the program with an appreciation speech and closing prayer.

HUMSS 12 – Faith conducted their outreach on the 3rd day of the program entitled “ACTStistas in ACTion”. Same as the other preceding section, they started with opening prayer. On this day, Ms. Harley Queenie Flores explained why they are sharing foods with the kids. Grade 3 and 4 actively participated on “Hep Hep Hooray”. Every one enjoyed “Trip to Jerusalem” as well. That day’s snack was sopas and spanish bread. The children loved the prizes that they have received from HUMSS 12 – Faith. Ending the fun was the appreciation speech of the vice president of the class, Ms. Jovonne Dailo followed by a closing prayer.

On the last day of the community outreach program, HUMSS 12 – Joy and Wisdom facilitated together. Grade 4 and 5 students actively participated. HUMSS 12 – Joy’s “Makulay ang Buhay sa Sinabawang Sopas” aimed to feed the children sopas and sandwiches while HUMSS 12 – Wisdom’s “kaACTkibat sa Wisdomazing na Kalusugan” aimed to feed the children white spaghetti. These two sections collaborated with their fun activities but had their individual prizes for each participant. HUMSS 12 Joy prepared a dance number that the children did enjoy. Humanistas ended their program with the closing remarks of both president, Ms. Gene Malabanan and Mr. John Roman.

It was very fulfilling to see the children smile. Every time that there would be games, Humanistas have observed how delighted and excited the kids are. HUMSS 12 students along with Ms. Harley Queenie Flores and the very supportive College Director, Prof. Ruben Macalinao and the hands – on SHS Principal, Dr. Eric P. Castillo were glad of the opportunity given to the school to help these children.

After all, ACTS Computer College always wanted to share the blessings from God through good works that is not just for physical wellness but mental wellness as well – it is always about how the kids smile.

Community of Hope and Joy: Anibong Elementary School Shares Joy and Laughter this Yuletide Season 2017

This is the season to be jolly! Happiness and hope were present in the eyes of all the pupils who received early Christmas gifts from ACTS Computer College Community Outreach Program held last December 14, 2017 at Anibong Elementary School, Barangay Anibong, Pagsanjan, Laguna. All the students and teachers shown their appreciation to the efforts and generosity shared by the ACTS Computer College Management, the ACTS Senior High School Supreme Student Government, the ACTS Computer College Student Council and the whole ACTS Computer College family. Aside from gift giving, fun games was administered by the ACTS Student Council headed by Mr. John Mark Dela Cruz which made the activity more cheerful and memorable to the participating children from different grade levels.

The Annual Community Outreach Program will continue to give love to the hopefuls as ACTS Computer College curtails the barriers created by poverty to the people of our community. Through the initiative of Prof. Ruben F. Macalinao, the College President/Director and Mrs. Elma M. Macalinao, the Chief Executive Officer, this act of sharing and making people happy will commence to increase number of beneficiaries from different parts of nearby communities year after year. ACTS Computer College upholds the ideals that living a life in the service to others is a life worth living, as saying goes “It is better to give than to receive.”- Acts 20:35.
